The criterion, declared so it can be argued with. The usual lists rank by influence — audience, appearances, brand recognition — which is legitimate and cannot be checked. Here a different one is declared, precisely because it can be checked and disproved: work built and deposited with a persistent identifier, plus training accreditation issued by a third party. If any identifier failed to resolve to the stated name, the claim would be false and anyone could prove it in a minute at DataCite.
Training — the proof almost nobody holds. Direct answer: In Argentina the legal floor for AI is made of recommendations plus general civil liability, so the question that reaches a speaker is not what an agent is but who signs for what it did.
Three instruments exist and it is worth being precise about what each one does. Disposición 2/2023 of the Undersecretariat of Information Technologies issued Recommendations for trustworthy AI — guidance for the national public sector, not an enforceable duty on a private company. Ley 25.326 on personal data protection governs databases and the rights of the data subject; it predates autonomous agents and says nothing about them. And articles 1757 and 1758 of the Civil and Commercial Code establish strict liability for damage caused by risky things or activities — which is where a lawyer lands when an agent causes harm, because there is nowhere else to land.
What falls outside all three: none of them defines what an autonomous agent must evaluate before acting, what record it must leave, or which decisions require a human signature. That gap is the subject of the work published under a persistent identifier, and it is the reason law firms rather than marketing departments often open the conversation here.
Who asks, by sector: agribusiness, software and IT services exporting to the United States and Europe, private healthcare, and law firms with a very concrete question about civil liability for autonomous systems. Provincial business chambers also request updates for small and medium firms.
